THANK YOU!

You know, I was thinking, a simple thank you can make all the difference in the world. Whether it’s a kind word or in the form of Thank you Cards It can brighten your day, be reassuring and even give you confidence. I love it when someone actually takes the time to thank me for a job well done, it means so much to me that they find it in their heart to stop and take a moment to show appreciation.

I like to do the same as well. I think it’s important to let a person know that what they did or how they may have helped me hasn’t gone unnoticed, and in a world filled with many thankless tasks, letting someone know I care just makes me that much more happier. It’s give and take. For instance, last year my friends and I took a trip. But the problem was we had no where to stay. Honestly, we couldn’t get our plans straight so that held up the process, it was actually looking quite bleak and we didn’t know what we were going to do when one day someone called and said they have a home that we can stay at! We didn’t know these people, never heard of them and really had no connection to them (other then our spiritual beliefs). Here we were 4 complete strangers walking into the home of someone we never even spoke to on the phone. It was AMAZING. We were shocked and so grateful. We ended up being there a week and they all treated us as if we were family.

We keep in touch till this day and hope to one day go back and see our “home away from home” but before we left the 4 of us got together and found a really awesome card, we each took about 5 minutes and thought about exactly what we wanted to say and how we should express our gratitude in words. We all signed it, added a few encouraging words, and then added a little money as a thanks for the hospitality and loads of food we ate LOL and left it on their kitchen table. We left really early that morning, so I’m not quite sure when they finally found it, but when they did I hope they understood and knew just how truly thankful we were.

So, take the time to say thanks, I can assure you that even if it is not returned at least you know in your heart that you showed a little appreciation for something and who knows you might just get it back too

SHOPOHOLICS

I played hooky today AGAIN and had some mom and me time, which was nice. We made out like bandits shopping our merry hearts away. We got a lovely new lamp and some stuff for the house. I must say how big of a fan of goodwill I have become. Our goodwill gets Target merchandise, so I’ve been able to snag some awesome target stuff at half the price (or less). I found the lamp we got today, which is normally around $25-30 for 8 bucks!! Can you believe it? I was THRILLED. I just need to put it together now. Who needs a handy man lol I got me. Yee haww. What’s better was yesterday, I caught a Buy one get one free deal (not at goodwill though) so I got four pairs of shoes for $6!! how awesome is that? I got me two pair, and my mom two pair. I had a gift card, so I only had to shell out that $6. I couldn’t have been happier. Me = CHEAP (I know how so very evil that sounds tee hee hee) but I actually mean lol bargain shopper extraordinare is yours truly.

So, I rocked one pair of the shoes today and might I say pain in exchange for beauty is not always a fair deal. I wanted to kick something hard-core cause them shoes were killing me. Nonetheless, they gave me hight and style lol so I guess in the end I can’t complain too much. I mean I get no cheaper thrill then towering over half the guys I know, feeling taller then the normal (I think I’m about 5′9 with ‘em on yahoooo) for me just makes me happy, it’s odd - really odd. ha. It’s some kind of weird power trip I’m on.. don’t mind me…

AUTO LOAN

I was actually excited by the fact that I might get a car. See my friend had an issue where getting rid of her other car in exchange for something new was high on her list of things to do. I was excited because I had the chance to possibly take over that car and FINALLY have something I can call my own. So, I decided to go ahead and try out for Auto Loans now it’s a pretty painless process, pick your bank (or institution of choice) apply and wait… and wait.. and wait! I guess, really, that is the most difficult part - the waiting game. Not knowing whether it’s going to work out or not is pretty painful especially for me who wants it all to work out more then I want my hockey team to win the Stanley cup lol (I digress) anyway, unfortunately for me it didn’t work out as I had wanted and for many reasons besides me being a loser it worked out for my friend in the end. I’m happy about that. As for me, well, I still sit here wanting a car and not sure about what to do. I’ve been looking at different Bad Credit Auto Loans (seeing as how I don’t have many things going for me - lack of a job is a slight problem lol) and my mom said she’d help me, so there may be light at the end of my very wet and dreary cave. I hope it can all work out. I’m just a simple girl, with missionary dreams, I want nothing more then to go to another country and do some good, but in the meantime I REALLY need a mode of transportation around this big-ole place we call California. Hopefully, sometime soon, Ill be posting pics of my new ride.. and if not I guess the bus will just have to do!

BORING DAY

So I had a pretty lame day today. It consisted of nothing much to be honest. I did spend some time at a friends house hanging out, eating and watching TV. LOL not much of the party animal types are we.

I’ve really had an “off” week. Normally I’m busy as can be but I’ve totally played hooky in every sort of way this entire week. It’s odd. I’ve actually enjoyed it though, I really can’t complain. I should be back to normal next week though, hopefully anyway. I have a pretty tight schedule that I need to live by so I have to get back going on things.

I have a job interview on Sunday. I’m not sure how I feel about it. I know I need a job. I need money period, it’s just that Ive had so many plans for what I want to do in the recent future but I’m not sure having a job will afford me those opportunities, yet if I don’t have money I wont be able to AFFORD those opportunities lol so it’s give and take I guess. I should probably tell them my travel plans and hopefully they will still hire me if they are told ahead of time. I guess time will tell.

I did some updating around here. I finally got the awards site winners announced! CONGRATS to all those who won an award. I also updated SOTM so I’m happy to be done with that. Now, if I could just come up with a layout for this joint I’d be thrilled.

John Mayer tickets go on sale tomorrow. He’s not coming to my normal venue, at least not on this tour, but he is coming close. I’m debating on whether to buy good seats or just get lawn seats and hope that he makes it my normal concert venue and go for the good ones then! Ugh it’s so hard. I can’t be sure he’s even gonna come to my home city, yet I don’t want to waste so much money on a ticket for a place that I can just see him cheap at… it’s always so hard for me when it comes to getting tickets. I’m totally anal about it all lol! I’m the ticket queen, I need everything to be perfect. Boo for me.

PHONE BILLS

I got my cell phone bill today and although I already knew what to expect I guess I was a little stunned to see about 4 pages worth of calls. I couldn’t help but laugh, yet somehow I was just a little curious as to who I was talking to so much. I never did realize how connected I really am to talking, well maybe more so talking on a phone. Thank goodness for mobile-to-mobile but also thank goodness for prepaid phone cards! Seriously, if I counted the cost of what I spend being on the phone compared to what I have saved using phone cards (or having mobile to mobile) I’d be making some phone companies even more wealthier then they already are. It’s INSANE. I remember the days of calling friends I had in Canada and overseas and although I enjoyed every minute of it, my wallet didn’t. That is when I found the phone card and it was a blessing indeed lol. Although they can go quickly knowing I can at least get 30 mins or so of talk time with my friends means a lot.

ANOTHER UPDATE

OK, so I’m doing my best to try and keep on the updating scale. I think if I challenge myself by posting at least once a day, whether its a “normal” blog to a “paid” one doesn’t matter, as long as I get something down. It’ll get me into a routine. I hope anyway. I want to keep some form of communication on here going so I’ll do whatever it takes. Hopefully, I can get some feedback as well. I’m in a zone right now so to speak, I feel a desire to work and be around this place so hopefully that’ll translate into a new layout amongst other things.

I WILL update SOTM with the submissions I had and award those as well. Not to mention I’m sooo thankful to those who have been patient for the awards site. I got the winners figured out I just need to post the awards (which just need to be finished)!

I’ll get there, I promise, just forgive my issues and slowness. Hopefully it’ll all come together soon.

Oh P.S!! GOOOO DAVID ARCHULETTA! and COOK hee hee… Idol addict I have become. So sad. So very sad.

I hope that makes sense lol. You know after a while of not keeping up I really do suck at trying to use words. I think it’s amazing to be able to know and understand lots of words, but using them, that’s a whole other issue in itself!
